What Each Part of the
PMS IV Does

A PMS IV gives you fluids, B vitamins, magnesium and two prescription medicines at known doses. Here is what each one does in the body. We don't claim it treats, cures or prevents PMS, period pain or any other condition, and it doesn't replace care from your own doctor.

PMS IV Therapy Treatment

Toradol and Zofran

Toradol (ketorolac) 30 mg is a prescription NSAID that blocks the enzymes that make prostaglandins, chemicals involved in pain and inflammation. Zofran (ondansetron) 4 mg blocks serotonin receptors involved in nausea. Both are given only after our physician assistant clears you.

Step 1

Magnesium sulfate 800 mg

Magnesium is a mineral involved in normal muscle and nerve function, including how muscles contract and relax, and in hundreds of enzyme reactions.

Step 2

B vitamins and fluids

B12 and the B-complex vitamins are coenzymes in the reactions that release energy from food, and B12 is needed to make red blood cells. The liter of saline rehydrates you as it goes in.

What's in a
PMS IV?

Our PMS IV contains 1000 ml of normal saline, vitamin B12 2000 mcg, B-complex 2 ml (thiamine 200 mg, riboflavin 4 mg, niacinamide 20 mg, dexpanthenol 4 mg, pyridoxine 4 mg), magnesium sulfate 800 mg, Toradol (ketorolac) 30 mg and Zofran (ondansetron) 4 mg. Toradol and Zofran are prescription medicines, so our physician assistant reviews your health history, allergies and current medicines before your appointment and gives them only if you're medically cleared. The drip contains no hormones. Our vitamins are compounded by a licensed US pharmacy, and a board-certified registered nurse mixes the drip on site and stays with you for the whole session.

When Period Pain Needs
a Doctor, Not a Drip

A PMS IV is not a substitute for medical care, and our nurses can't diagnose the cause of period pain. See your doctor if your pain stops you working or sleeping even with over-the-counter pain medicine, if your periods suddenly become more painful, if the pain has been getting worse over months, if you have pain outside your period or pain with a fever, or if you bleed heavily enough to soak a pad or tampon every hour. Painful periods can have causes that need a proper diagnosis. Call 911 or go to an emergency room for sudden, severe pain in your lower belly, heavy bleeding with dizziness or fainting, or pain or bleeding when you could be pregnant.

How Much Does a PMS IV Cost?

A PMS IV with Liquid Life costs $325 a session. That includes the nurse's visit to your home, hotel or office, a health screening reviewed by our physician assistant, all supplies, and the nurse staying for the full 45 to 60 minutes. Add-ons are extra. A travel fee applies to addresses outside our standard coverage area, and you'll see it before you confirm. We don't accept FSA or HSA cards. See every drip on our IV drip menu.

Quick Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about the PMS IV: what's in it, who can have it and what it costs.

It's an IV drip of a liter of normal saline with vitamin B12 2000 mcg, B-complex 2 ml, magnesium sulfate 800 mg and two prescription medicines: Toradol (ketorolac) 30 mg and Zofran (ondansetron) 4 mg. Everything goes straight into your bloodstream over 45 to 60 minutes, so nothing has to be swallowed or kept down. The medicines are given only after our physician assistant has reviewed your health history and medically cleared you.
Everything in the bag goes into your bloodstream as the drip runs, so it is fully delivered by the end of the session. How quickly, and whether, you notice a difference varies from person to person, and we don't promise a specific effect.
Yes. A board-certified registered nurse comes to your home, hotel or office across 25 Los Angeles neighborhoods. A travel fee applies to addresses outside our standard coverage area, and you'll see it before you confirm.
We can't promise it will, and we don't claim it treats period pain or any other condition. The bag contains Toradol (ketorolac), a prescription anti-inflammatory pain medicine, and magnesium, a mineral involved in normal muscle function, but how anyone responds varies. If your cramps are severe or getting worse, see your doctor.
Adults, and teens aged 16 to 17 with parental consent, who want fluids, B vitamins and magnesium during their period and who are cleared at our health screening, including for the two prescription medicines. It is not a treatment for any illness or condition.
A board-certified registered nurse places the IV, mixes the drip on site and stays with you for the whole session. Before the visit, our physician assistant reviews your health screening and decides whether the medicines are right for you.
About 45 to 60 minutes. Your nurse stays with you throughout, and you can lie down and rest while the drip runs.
For most people who are screened and cleared, yes, but not for everyone. Toradol isn't suitable for people with an allergy or sensitivity to NSAIDs or aspirin, a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding, reduced kidney function or a bleeding disorder, or who take blood thinners. Tell us if you are or could be pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Our physician assistant must clear you before your appointment, and if a PMS IV isn't right for you, we'll tell you before anything goes in.
Every booking starts with a health screening, reviewed by our physician assistant. You don't need to bring a prescription: Toradol and Zofran are prescription medicines, so our physician assistant reviews your health history and medicines and gives them only if you're medically cleared.
Yes. We offer same-day appointments, often within a few hours of booking, depending on nurse availability in your area.
No. Liquid I.V. is an electrolyte drink powder made by another company. We are Liquid Life, a mobile IV therapy service: a nurse comes to you and places an actual intravenous drip.
$325 a session, including the nurse's visit, the health screening, the drip and all supplies. Add-ons cost extra. A travel fee applies outside our standard coverage area, shown before you confirm. We don't accept FSA or HSA cards.
You can book whenever you need one, and our physician assistant reviews your health history each time before clearing you. Toradol is meant for short-term use, so tell us if you take anti-inflammatory pain medicines such as ibuprofen or naproxen often, or have already taken one that day.
